Oct 24, 2021
October 24 is World Polio Day. There is a well written, extremely interesting article in the Rotary magazine for October about the status of the Polio eradication effort. The World Health Organization's Polio Chief, Aidan O'Leary, was interviewed for the article.
On Thursday, October 21, at 3pm, Alaska time, (7pm in Toronto and Eastern USA), there will be a World Polio Day event sponsored by Rotary International. Here is the link to attend:
Below is the information from the link. I have heard a few of these speakers and they are excellent. RI does put on efficiently run, and very interesting web based events. I hope you'll sign on and attend.
Dr. Bob Scott was the former Polio Plus Chair, and is very knowledgeable and personable. As you know, Jennifer Jones is the Rotary International President Elect and she is a great speaker - from our own Zone. Shekhar Mehta, is our current RI President.
