Mar. 18, 2021 12:00 p.m.
Sarah Junkin Woodard of the Rotary Club of Ciudad Sandino, Nicaragua, will join us as our speaker on Thursday, 18 March. Living and working in Nicaragua, with the 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Jubilee House Community Inc and its project, the Center for Development in Central America (JHC-CDCA), she is a founding member of the Ciudad Sandino Rotary Club, building bridges and opening opportunities for international service connections between U.S. Rotarians and Nicaraguans, actively participating in both COVID-19 relief and hurricane relief efforts following November's double hurricanes Eta and Iota. We have been assisting in their work since Kathleen Murdock and Mike Woodard, also of Rotary and the JHC-CDCA, spoke to the Homer-Kachemak Bay Rotary in 2018.

Dear Homer businesses and organizations, Cook Inletkeeper is hosting our annual Electronics Recycling event on Saturday, May 1st from 10 to 2 pm at Spenard Builders Supply. Please mark your calendars and plan to stop by to recycle any obsolete or malfunctioning computers, communications equipment, or other electronic devices. For a full list of accepted electronics go to https://inletkeeper.org/recycling/. If you are a business/organization with more than a few items, please call or email us ahead of the event to pre-schedule a drop-off time. This will help us prepare for your haul. Per the pricing of the recycler, $15 will be charged for each TV and monitor dropped off. All other electronics are free, however donations are appreciated. Individuals and households do not need to pre-schedule a drop-off time. To pre-schedule a drop-off time or learn more about the event, please contact Mandy Bernard at recycle@cookinletkeeper.org or 907-235-4068 x21. Sincerely, MANDY BERNARD |
